Leo turned six today!! I feel like he has grown up so much this year. He has transitioned to Kindergarten easily, moving up reading groups each quarter and really being able to read a lot now. He puts together his Lego sets without help, which is a big change from last year. He plays well with others—mostly, he still only wants to play what he wants to play—and sometimes plays with the boys on the street behind us and often with the kids on our street. Leo likes video games—Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, and Minecraft. He is self motivated to practice piano most days, and is getting lots better at it. He learned the main theme to Star Wars on the piano and is now working on the Cantina Band song. Leo and Olivia play less well together now than in years past, but I figure it is classic siblings at this age. They still like lots of the same movies and they play Legos together nicely when Jason isn’t tearing things up. They ride bikes well together and we are looking forward to warmer weather so we can all do those things again!
Leo opened presents early before school this morning and ate bacon and a fried egg as his birthday breakfast! Thank you, family, for spoiling him today!
I picked the big kids up an hour early from school and after about 24 minutes of screens, Leo decided to work on his new Lego sets!
Then Leo had a piano lesson where his teacher promised to do something special. They worked on the Cantina band song and he loved it! Notice Leo’s feet!
Then playground time as it was a warm day...
After delivery pizza, Leo blew out the candle on his chocolate on chocolate cake! Sweet! Here’s to being six! We love you so much, Leo! What a year this will be!

Yay Leo!! I love this. What a happy little boy. I'm glad you mentioned his feet in the piano lesson, I almost didn't see it. How funny. And how awesome is it that his love of Star Wars and piano can go hand in hand.
