Olivia is NOT a good eater! You see that in the video. (You also see that Nicholas and I are simply taken with every little thing that Olivia does!) I am holding her because she wouldn't eat at all in the high chair. That's not usually the case, but I think she got used to eating on my lap on our trip. Yes, we are distracting her with the camera, but that resistance is pretty typical. Everything distracts her. The pictures on the wall, the chandelier, etc. We are trying barley because everything seems to constipate her. Poor little thing!
Olivia was growing like a weed, but now she is slowing down. She is mostly still in her 6-9 month clothes, except in some 12-month pants because she is pretty tall. I'm trying not to worry about it, though. She seems happy and healthy, so I figure she will eat when she is hungry. Teething, crawling, making talking sounds are all things that the books say will throw her off schedule, including eating and sleeping.
And, I've decided that I am going to start making Olivia's bows since they are so pricey. I bought a glue gun for $3, cheap ribbon, and hair clips. After watching a video on how to tie a bow, here is my first one. I am pretty impressed with myself. Stay tuned for more. Olivia's eight-month pictures are next week and I am going to make a navy bow to go with a little dress of Abby's.
You guys are doing great! Don't worry. She won't starve or stunt her growth. Their growth physiology still seems to be pretty programmed at this stage.
ReplyDeleteThe constipation may get better as she crawls more and more. Did the pediatrician say she could have water yet? White grape juice is also good for that...
BTW, I love the bow, Martha. ;)
She is just talking up a storm! Also, I love the bow! :)
