Spring outing!! Field trips!! And the rest of the week...

Last weekend Nicholas and Olivia went to spring outing, and had a great time together!! They stayed in a cabin, roasted marshmallows, did a zip line, canoed, used a B.B. gun, and other fun stuff! Here are some highlight pictures...

We also put in our little garden this week and spread mulch. Ah, spring!

The crocuses have come and gone as have most of the daffodils, but the irises are in full bloom!

Leo started vision therapy Wednesday and that went fine. He has five-ten minutes of homework nightly.

Thursday I chaperoned Olivia’s field trip to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science. We go there regularly, but it was nice to go without the boys. Olivia and her friend Malin were the only ones in my group and it was pleasant seeing what they found interesting. They were a sweet pair!

Nicholas chaperoned Leo’s field trip to Marbles kids Museum the same day, and only had two in his group—Leo and our neighbor Asher. They had a great time, too!

While we were chaperoning, Jason was at preschool. My friend and neighbor picked him up and here is the angelic picture she sent of him resting before I picked him up.

And today we had such a peaceful day with a bike ride in the morning and water fun in the afternoon!

And here are some sweet videos from the week:

In threes

Last week we found out Nicholas broke his middle finger on his right hand while playing basketball the week before. Poor Nicholas. It’s painful and annoying.

We also found out that Leo has accommodative dysfunction in his eyes and needs vision therapy. That means that his eye muscles cannot maintain focus, his peripheral vision isn’t good, and he uses his whole body to track objects instead of moving his eyeballs. The doctor recommended therapy once a week for 5 to 7 months. She said it was great that we caught it in kindergarten rather than fourth or fifth grade when he declared himself “not a reader!” His piano teacher actually was the one who noticed that he was turning his head to the side in order to maintain focus on his sheet music. So, even if nothing comes of piano with him, I will be eternally grateful to her. And that’s three health issues in about ten days, and we are done!

Other scenes from the week:

Leo’s book from kindergarten! Instant classic!

Wallypalooza, our elementary school’s annual festival/fundraiser was Friday, and the boys had fun playing games! And I won two baskets! Mom’s night out and Home/garden—few people put their tickets in for those, going for the children’s themed ones instead!

This is how Jason gets his own oatmeal in the morning! Ha!

And I started reading this book and am inspired to make a few changes!

Nicholas and Olivia are at their YGuides spring outing this weekend. Pictures to come!!

Another week and it feels like spring!

Olivia had her first lacrosse game Saturday and had a great time—despite the cold and rain...

While she and Nicholas were gone, I did a handstand for yoga and broke my toe when my yoga mat slipped on the carpet and I came down wrong.

There was so much more to this post!! I have no idea where it went!! Here are some more photos at least...

Nicholas and I went to friends’ for a dinner party and it was excellent!

And here are more scenes from the week!

Jason loves puzzles!

Local strawberries are in!

Our roses are blooming!

And I got a haircut and went out for dinner to celebrate April birthdays in my group of friends.
