Last days of Kindergarten and Second Grade

Leo and Olivia finished Kindergarten and second grade on June 7. They both grew so much in character and appearance! We are proud of all they learned and did!

Indiana/Kentucky trip, June 2018

After a whirlwind week of getting our house ready to sell, I took the kids to Indiana so that the realtor could show the house in peace and Nicholas could keep it clean without yelling at us! (Olivia and Leo had just tracked out the day before.) We did the usual: play on the farm and visit in town. So much thanks to all our family for making us feel welcome even though we just crashed into your houses and weekend plans!

Here are some picture highlights!

We bought a house!!

What?!! We put an offer in on a house in our neighborhood with a flatter lot, bigger backyard, and awesome first floor master, and we got the house! Closing day on our current house, which we put up for sale right after we bought the other one, is on July 27. Everything is going smoothly so far! Nicholas has been a dream at getting things done!

Balloon fest!! Our favorite festival!

We went to the Freedom Balloon Festival on the Friday before Memorial Day again, and were again awed by the fabulous, grand hot air balloons!

First we rode on the carnival rides...

The mass ascension happened for about a dozen balloons before wind grounded the rest.

Then we stick around for the balloon glow...

Pool days!

Swim practice started for Olivia and Leo on May 21 and the pool officially opened on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend!

First swim practice!

Pool days!

Mock meet! Our swim team has a pretend meet where they divide our team into two and run the meet. This is so helpful for new swimmers and families new to swimming because then the kids see what a meet is like, and the parents see how much volunteering has to happen in order for the meet to happen!

And more pool afternoons!
