Quick updates

  • I am falling behind if Olivia is to continue to be the most photographed girl in the world. Sorry. I'll work on that.

  • We started Kindermusik last night and LOVED it. It is a "Sing and Sign" class, so we are learning sign language and singing, which is great. Olivia bounced and crawled and laughed for the entire 45 minutes of the class. The instructor, Miss Erin, who incidentally reminds me a lot of the Erin I know with her theatrical performances of "The Bear Went over the Mountain" and her carrying singing voice, is fantastic. The class is set up in five minute increments, which is about as long as a baby's attention span. There are eight babies in the class, all of whom are older than Olivia -- 11 months to 16 month, but Olivia could crawl and engage as well as any of them. Of course, some are walking, but that's okay. Next week I will take a picture. This week our homework is to work on the signs we learned: bear, more, please, thank you, hello, eat, ball, what, finished, all done, and book. I'm not expecting Olivia to get these anytime soon. But we have a good time singing with them since Olivia loves songs with hand motion attached.

  • Tuesday night was a great sleeping night for Olivia. She went down at 5:30, woke at 4:30 for a bottle, and then went back to sleep until 6:30. AMAZING!! Last night, she woke at 1:30, then at 3:30 for a bottle, then at 6:30 to get up. Not bad. I think that the Kindermusik so late--4:30-5:15--and no bath (in order to get her to bed by 6 PM) threw us off.

  • I think Olivia is getting another tooth. She took my fingers and bit them several times today. That usually means another tooth is coming. That could have thrown her off last night, too.

  • I felt like I hardly got any time with Olivia today. She is growing up so fast. When I left her at Mom's Morning Out, she cried for the first time when I was leaving her there. I had to work REALLY hard to leave and then not to turn right around and come back in. Kalynn, who was watching Olivia today, texted me later and said she cried until I drove away, about a minute and then was happy the rest of the morning. Hall didn't come today, so Kalynn and Olivia had girl time. Kalynn put Olivia in a stroller and they visited all the other classrooms. Olivia loves other kids, so she laughed and played a lot today. Maybe that is why she took an hour and a half nap this afternoon, which is why I feel like I hardly got any time with her! But, I am glad she is sleeping well now. I can definitely tell that she is a much happier baby!

  • Olivia is taking six ounces of milk consistently now, 4-5 times per day. She is taking about four tablespoons of oatmeal, one serving of veggies/fruit, two ounces of prune juice cut with four ounces of water, and 1/3 serving of puffs/Cheerios per day.
