Ferberization: Night 4 and Day 4

Night four went really well. Olivia went down at 6 o'clock with a little fuss and then woke with a pretty intense cry at 9:30. We don't have a video monitor, and the cry sounded different than her normal protesting cry, so I went to check. She had lodged herself in the corner of the crib, so I went in and moved her. She didn't even wake up. There was no more noise until 4:50 AM. I went in with the bottle and she took 4 ounces. I turned her sleep sheep back on and did the comforting routine and left. She protested for a few minutes and then went back to sleep. There were some intermittent cries every 15-20 minutes, but I didn't go in until 6:30 when I could hear her talking and sitting up. I went in at that point and did the morning routine. I call that a great night!

Today, Olivia was more rested than I have seen her in weeks. She was happier, too. She took two 45 minute naps, and went down with just a little protest at 6 o'clock. I think we are getting into a routine!

Here are some pictures from today...it was cold outside so we bundled up for our walk...but we ended up turning around after about 5 minutes because the wind was too much for Olivia.

These are the overalls Mom bought Olivia for Christmas. They are great for crawling because they don't fall off!

And I wanted to mention some of the other things Olivia is doing now. When she sees her reflection, she opens her mouth and "kisses" the mirror. She started doing that with me today, and she bit me!! I thought it was a kiss, but now I have red scratches on my nose and cheek from her teeth!

I am starting to use the word "no" with Olivia. When she crawled over to the dogs' water bowl to play in the water, I moved her away and said "no." She proceeded to do it again three times. I repeated. Finally I distracted her with other toys.
