Nicholas has brought his A game this week. Not only has he been home every night to either give Olivia her bath or talk to her while she is taking a bath, but he has put her to bed most nights. Tonight, he offered to let me sneak off to yoga. I said I was too tired. So, instead, he brought home flowers and ice cream. What a sweet husband and a great dad. Thank goodness for Nicholas. I love you, honey.
The reason I was so tired is because Olivia got her second tooth (lower right front) last night, and it was a rough night. Today, too, she was agitated, near crying much of the day, and didn't sleep much or well when she did sleep. Poor little thing. I gave her some Tylenol for the first time (not the recalled stuff) and some Baby Orajel (not at the same time). Nothing really helped. She was alternately pacified by (1) biting on her pacifier, (2) drinking cold water from a sippy cup and biting on that, and (3) biting on various teethers.
I am going to bed...with laundry to iron, dogs to walk, work to do, yoga to practice,...and I am NOT going to feel guilty about it!

No...you do not needto feel guilty. Hand Nicholas the baby monitor and go sleep. Cutting teeth is hard for baby and mommy. It is always rough to see your baby hurting and being a zombie trying to soothe your little bundle is rough too. Hang in there.

Never feel guilty about taking time for yourself!
ReplyDeleteP.S. When I started playing the video Patches was sitting next to me ... then Olivia screamed and Patches was startled and ran away :)
